Danny & I decided to take some vacation time the week of regional gymnastics and visit friends and family in Denver, before the school year begins in just a couple weeks.
Not our favorite outfits for pictures, but for posterity I took this picture with my friends Heidi & Jen at our traditional Summer Arrowhead Pool Party. We were actually able to attend 2 pool parties this year. There was a great turn out for this one, as it was Elizabeth's (Isaac's former 3rd grade teacher) birthday. It was great to visit with everyone!
Our niece, Jade, was able to come swimming and spend the day with us too.
Back at Papa Joe's and Grandma Chris' we played with more cousins! Lafai and Oslin have the same 2 cowlicks on the back of their heads...how do those things happen?
We spent Wednesday at the Denver Zoo, but Mom forgot the camera. I hope to post some of those pictures soon. It was Oslin's first trip. But Esaias loved it the most!
Then on Friday we started our gymnastics weekend, by watching Lilliana compete.

Leilani liked holding Oslin, but both Esaias and Oslin peed on her at Saturday's meet...poor thing!
Lilli was thrilled to make it onto the podium, as she had just advance to the next level of difficulty at the last meet. She wasn't planning on making it to State this year, but here she goes!

"Inty Ansa" more commonly know to the rest of us as Auntie Risa, spoiled Esaias with goodies from the concession stand...no wonder he wanted to stay by her all day!
Sorry Lilli & Marina, this is what Oslin thinks about 2 long days of gymnastics!

Even Great Grandma and Grandpa made a surprise stop into see us before dinner on Friday evening!
Marina was disappointed to not find her score high enough for the podium, which would mean a trip to State in 2 weeks, but she was very proud of herself! As were we proud of her! She had a great season, got her first blue ribbons, got both feet on the beam for her cartwheel, and did her mill circle, and front hip circle on bars. She is really looking forward to advancing to the next levels and learning new tricks. She has learned a lot this season, her new team was young had never competed before this year. She was able to be a leader, and showed great maturity in her winning and losing. We love her very much, and it's always fun to watch her grow and succeed!
Since Marina is not going to State, we realized we are finally done traveling to Denver for awhile. We have been there every month, and sometimes twice a month since we moved to Grand Jct. at the beginning of the year. We will be happy to settle in and not have to travel as much, but there is a melancholy feeling as we close another chapter in our lives.
And I couldn't end this post without expressing a special thanks to my wonderful sister, Marisa, who has supported Marina in more ways than we can say! She took extra time coaching Marina before regionals, and she always connects with Marina about gymnastics and helps her learn to love the sport, competing, and teaches her how to handle winning and losing! Thank You Auntie!
