Our 1st Little White Ugly Camping Trip!

Okay so this was a little ugly. We did'n't want to go to far away, but we've been dying to test her out. It was thanks to my neighbor that we finshed the trailer lighting and tires in time to go Friday. He took pity on us, when he saw us struggling with trying to back the trailer into our garage. I'm very glad he didn't just sit in his garage drinking his beer and laugh at us. Because I am sure that was probably an option.

So, we threw together a cooler of food and some clothes, and being a little to smug as novice trailer campers, decided we didn't need to have a specific destination, we thought we would find a place. So off across town on 285. We drove ready and excited to test this baby out. Well without sharing all the brutally emabarrassing details, I will tell you that after having to change a tire on the trailer and it being dark, we pulled into (not gracefully either) a KOA Kampground in Buena Vista (yeah, I know, not so close to town) hungry and tired. Thank goodness for the Little White Ugly then! If we would've had to set up a tent we would have been screwed! Danny set it up fast and we were in bed in no time. Even the dogs were in there with us. In fact, I would have to say that's who did the best...the dogs. They actually laid down and slept until about 6:30 am. Unfortunately, this is not the first emergency KAO Kamping trip. I guess that means we still have a lot to learn. Isaac wanted to know why they spelled camping with a "K." Couldn't answer that one. The good news is after a few heated moments in the car while driving, we could still climb into the Little White Ugly say our prayers, tell each other we love you, and go to sleep feeling peaceful. And the kids were thrilled to find bones behind our campsite. What a great family I have!!!

On our way home we stopped for lunch in Woodland Park. Cute little place.
They have a dinosaur museum & gift shop.
The kids wanted to post these pictures. Anyone want to guess what kind of animal these bones belong too (below). We thought the kids were kidding when they told us they found bones. Or I thought they found left over chicken bones from someone's bbq. I think this is a little larger than a chicken.
