The Last Hurrah!

 With our summer days running out, we invited Davis over to play one more day. The Wonder - Twin Boys played Superhero and even got Marina and Isaac to join them. They always have so much fun together.

 Marina and Isaac spent their last few days playing with cousins Jade, Erica, Jose, G'ma Chris, Papa Joe, and Uncle Ben as they came through town on their way to Utah to celebrate the Twins birthday. Sorry, I was at work, so I was not there to take pictures. We did post a few pictures on facebook of them all playing in the hot tub.

 This is the best we have for first day of school pictures this year. Isaac leaves for the bus around 6:48 am, and we did not have the camera out and ready yet. We barely had a moment to snap these shots before taking the little boys to Timi's their daycare provider, and Marina starting 5th grade.

It has been another crazy transition! Olsin got a concussion the night before my first official day of work, and then got sick with croupe within this first 2 weeks at daycare. Danny and I have been juggling staying home with him to get him better (mostly Danny-great Daddy and hubby he is!)

Esaias cried everyday for the first week and a half, but now seems to love going and playing with the other kids. I think he's still mad at me for leaving him. When I get home at night, he welcomes me with wonderful hugs and kisses, and then he acts terrible the rest of the night! I hope it's just the age and it passes quickly.

Marina has been extremely resilient and is enjoying her new friends and class at Rocky Mountain Elementary. She is just across the hall from me. We have actually run into each other in the bathroom a few times. It's kind of funny coming out of a bathroom stall and when you look up the student next to you washing hands is your own daughter.

Isaac came home the first day saying that everyone was commenting on how low his voice is getting. They are probably right, he keeps changing everyday. It's crazy how much older he looks than last years pictures. He is feeling much better about school this year. We hope it shows in his grades!

You Never Know What You Are Gonna Get

 When you buy an older home, especially in the winter time, you never know what you might find after you move in.  In the spring we cleaned out all the flower/rock beds, and had no idea what might grow back. Surprise! These beautiful hibiscus flowers bloomed in our yard this August after some several rainy days and some unusually high humidity. What a fabulous surprise!

Unfinished Project

 I would rather be sharing the before and after pictures right now of our master bedroom bathroom make over. However, I'm sharing the unfinished project. Before school/work started Danny and I decided that we really wanted to get rid of the unwanted bright flat yellow paint in our bedroom. We needed to make a few cosmetic changes to make our room feel more like us. It took us 2 full weekends. And we just about had it complete, when we met our match on a couple of things. The first problem comes with replacing these closet doors. Our bathroom is very narrow, and is very limited on mirrors, so we decided to make a change and take the old metal closet doors off and replace with mirror doors. Great idea...until you install the first set of doors, and then begin to install the 2nd set to only discover that the remaining 3 doors are missing a critical piece needed for installation. Without going into the very long and uneventful story...a month later we are still waiting for the parts. Needless to say, our project still awaits completion.

 Here's a sampling of the small mirrors. But this is looking soooo much better, now that it's got a new paint job. Bright yellow walls and ceiling left a lot to be desired. I was pretty impressed with my amateur ability to pain the chevron design. 

This shelf I painted purple and used to hang my collection of scarves...I was very excited about how it turned out.

The second problem came when it took about 5 times as long as it should've to install the new ceiling fan. And even when we finally got it installed and it appeared to be working fabulously...we ended up with a faulty transmitter. Yikes! We just can't win.  No wait, it gets worse. Before the day was over, Esaias ended up accidentally breaking one of the new matching table lamps! 3 strikes and we were done.  Thank goodness a day later and with the help of my in-laws, we were able to find another to replace the broken one.
Here sit a month later, and our bedroom is still not completed. Hopefully soon, we can put an end to the never-ending project.
