MAJOR MARCH EVENTS!

March began with an ending...Isaac's last year for the pinewood derby. Isaac was sad to see it go...we were not. And we are very glad we have a few years before doing this again. Isaac's car, the "Crocodillian" tied for 6th place. We were all happy to see it show well, finish the races without any wheels falling off.

What is March without a little green celebration. As usual, Grandma Chris and Papa Joe came bearing a few strange green gifts to mark the season. The kids impromptu celebration came a day or two early but boy did they catch that Leprechaun bug.The only green we all seemed to catch was getting sick. We have spent over half the month with some illness or another. Esaias got the worst of it. He got bronchitis again, but this time instead of pneumonia (like the previous month) it landed him a night in the emergency room and oxygen for a week. He hated every minute of it. He is doing much better, but it has been a slow recovery. The first night he slept through the night, was the night Isaac took to the bathroom for an all nighter. It's been a rough go around. And we sure hope that Spring brings us some good health. It has definitely been our year to get everything. I hope the year is just about over!

March ends with a beginning. Marina's first dance. The Fairy Tale Ball is a 2nd grade tradition at our school to culminate the studying of many fairy tales. Isaac enjoyed his first "Ball," but there is just something about a girl getting to go to her first Ball. In fact, after we were home from The Ball, Marina said, "I can't wait to go to my next Fairy Tale Ball."
I inquired, "Next Fairy Tale Ball?"
"Yes, when I am 14 years old." Danny whispered, "church dance." (he, he, he)
I responded with something about the prom being more like the fairy tale ball. Either way she was thrilled to know that more evenings full of beautiful dresses, updo's and dancing await her future! She even requested that I buy her a real tiara for her prom. I told her that if she still wanted to wear one when she was 16 years old...then I would buy her one for the special occasion. What do you think?Watch Marina waltz. She is simply delightful!

We have had an eventful March to say the least. Parent-Teacher-Student conferences, research for my Master's, and Isaac's soccer practices made an appearance along with the regular craziness of our lives. We look forward to April, and know that many more memories will be made. How lucky we are! Happy March!
