We stayed in Ridgeway, CO. Which is a tiny town that I believe they call the Gateway to the San Juan's. We spent Friday in Telluride, shopping, eating BBQ, and riding the Gondola. Saturday in Ouray we again shopped, ate, hiked (which was a little more like a walk) into Box Canyon Falls, and then did a little 4 wheeling in our new Sequoia. No, we didn't off road in it. But I did get to test out how it handles. It did well. I was a little worried about "hurting" it when it was only a few days old to us, but I (Yes, I drove!) seemed to pass that test too, as it survived without damage. The Chipeta Sun Lodge was not the nicest place we'd ever stayed, but we lucked out, and without knowing it ahead of time...we had reserved the nicest room there. It had a panoramic view of the mountains, a private balcony, and private roof top hot tub (see above pics). So, needless to say Brooke and Brian came to our place for dinners, hotubbing, and late night adult conversation. Lots of fun! And very relaxing!
Brooke & Brian captured the amazing views up at Yankee Boy Basin in Ouray. Hopefully she'll email some of them to me and I can share with you. That is one amazingly beautiful place. Thanks again to Brooke & Brian for inviting us to go with them. We had a fabulous time!
