CMU Luau

We had a lot of fun going to the Colorado Mesa University Luau. The Polynesian Alliance puts this on for the community once a year, and it was really good. Far exceeded my expectations. In fact, we really hope that Marisa and Marcus can bring the family and come with us next year. We sported our Hawaiian clothing and had a great time watching the dancers. They did many of the traditional dances that we know, and love! They also threw in some other crazy fun dances too!

Isaac mesmerized by the performances, also ate 2 plates of food, and drank 4 or 5 sodas (not with his parents permission)!
Esaias loved the dancing too! He was a little shy when anyone wanted to try to dance with him...but he wasn't to shy to wander off on his own! Yikes, this boy can just disappear, in seconds. You have to watch him like a hawk! Yes, Grandma Layne was visiting and got to join in this fun event. And this was a big event for Grand Junction.
It was a little loud for Oslin. By the end of the evening we had him packed into his car seat, surrounded by blankets to buffer the noise. He did try sleeping, but I don't think it was working very well.

The soda bottles were definitely a hit for the kids!
Marina loved the dancing too. She has just joined a Latino dance group. She is learning Aztec dances, and is doing so well, that they are moving her up to the performance group already, after only 3 practices, and she has been invited to join the Mexican and Colombian dances. BYU-Living Legends dance group here comes Marina!
I had to get a picture of this girl dancing...this is not a great one, but it's the best I could get...this girl looks so much like my niece Leilani. The entire time she dances, she flirts with the audience with her face. She was fun to watch. And I can't believe how beautiful my niece is, and how much she's growing.
